The
brake is received. The work scope is identified. A
work order package is made up according to manual
requirements and details are entered into our
computer system. The work order is issued.

The brake is disassembled and cleaned. Rotors are
weighed and measured for minimum weight and
thickness. Discs are straightened as needed. The
housing, torque tube, pressure plate and stationary
discs are media blasted after which they are
inspected (see NDT tours) as per the manual. The
housing is coated with epoxy paint and baked.

In sub-assembly the pressure plate, torque tube and
stationary discs are repadded and the heat stack is
checked for minimum height.

During final assembly, the housing and heat stack
are assembled and torqued to specs and the adjusters
set, torqued and locked.
